Your 2020 Guide To Planning A Winter Trip To Jackson Hole

We have already enjoyed our first autumn snowfall in the Tetons, and that has our skier/snowboarder minds dreaming about the upcoming winter season! Many locals in Jackson Hole love the beautiful summer and fall seasons, but the snowy winters and playing in the mountains are the reason why many of us call this incredible place home. Here are a few tips we put together to help you plan the ultimate Jackson Hole winter vacation. The clock is ticking and the snow will be here soon, are you ready for winter?

Plan Early

Availability and selection for premier properties and private homes in Teton Village is limited, so we suggest getting a head start on your travel planning if this is what you’re looking for. We offer luxury accommodations in the Cody House, as well as the Moose Creek and Granite Ridge areas.  For smaller families, the Cody House is the perfect spot, located directly above the Kid’s Ranch in the center of Teton Village. You simply take the elevator down to ground level to access all the mountain lifts and amenities.

The Cody House is right next to the Bridger Gondola and offers the best ski-in, ski out access for small families.

Our Moose Creek townhomes, located atop Michael Drive, have great ski access to the base area with the Moose Creek chairlift no more than 100 yards from any unit. These upscale three bedroom three bath townhomes are also accessible by the Village Skier Shuttle. The exclusive Granite Ridge area is located near the Four Season’s Resort, where we offer two and three bedroom log cabins, as well as four bedroom lodges and homesteads.

The Cottagewood House is a popular rental in Teton Village.

Our larger five-bedroom homes, located throughout Teton Village, are also quite popular. These properties book up early, as we have repeat guests who reserve them the same week every year. If you have a large group to house, we recommend you start your search sooner than later to assure you get a property that suits your needs.

Decide Where to Stay

Most first time visitors to Jackson Hole are surprised to learn there are few ski-in, ski-out properties on the mountain, although there are several properties within a short walking distance. Unlike resorts in Utah and Colorado, the layout of Teton Village is a bit different.  There are only a handful of homes and lodges located slope side. Granite Ridge Lodge 3220 and Lodge 3217 are conveniently located off the beginner Teewinot Trail. We also have several Granite Ridge Homestead and Cabin properties with ski access to the base area via a handle tow lift.

The Village Skier Shuttle operates a consistent day and night bus service along Rachel and Michael Drive to the base area, where all our one to four bedroom condos are located.  Walking to the Aerial Tram or Bridger Gondola is also an option, especially for our convenient one bedroom La Choumine units, perfect for a couple. Most of our vacation rentals are located between a 10- to 15-minute walk to the Teton Village base area.

Lupine 1922. When staying in the Aspens, you have beautiful mountain views and are located only five minutes from the ski area.

Many people, including most locals, ride the local START bus to the base of the resort, or drive and park in the Ranch Lot, where parking is free if you have three or more people in the vehicle. For our guests staying in the Aspens, there is a START Bus Stop conveniently located at the front of the Aspens Market. The Aspens’ residential area is located 4 miles from the base of the ski resort, and is a great option for travelers on a budget. We offer one to three bedroom condos, as well as a number of private homes.
