May marks the return of many beloved summer traditions in Jackson Hole. With longer days and warmer weather, it's the perfect time to get outside and explore! Embrace cowboy culture at the Jackson Hole Rodeo, enjoy the beautiful landscapes of our national parks, ride the tram at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, and so much more.
There’s something for everyone—here are a few of our favorite events:
Old West Days - May 16-26, 2025
Old West Days is a lively celebration of Jackson Hole’s historic Western heritage with family entertainment, live music, and community events. Highlights include the High Noon Chili Cook-Off, the always-popular Old West Brewfest, the Mountain Man Rendezvous, and much more. You won’t want to miss a moment!
ElkFest - May 16-18, 2025
Spring in Jackson Hole brings one of nature’s great events— the annual elk migration. As thousands of elk move from the National Elk Refuge to their summer range, they leave behind their antlers. This natural event sets the stage for Elkfest, a unique celebration centered around the Boy Scout Elk Antler Auction. Each year, local Boy Scouts help collect the shed antlers and auction them off in Town Square, making it the largest elk antler auction in the world. Proceeds support both the local scouts and the National Elk Refuge.
Elkfest Weekend also features a variety of fun-filled events, including the Ultimate Towner Adventure Race—a high-energy, community obstacle course through downtown Jackson— and historic Old West reenactments that bring the past to life.
Million Dollar Music Fest - May 25, 2025 @ 4:00 PM
Kick off summer in true Wyoming style at the Million Dollar Music Fest on May 25th in Town Square! Presented by the iconic Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, this annual celebration of live country music and Western heritage is a favorite for both locals and visitors.
This year, GRAMMY nominated group, Midland, is making their return to Million Dollar Musicfest, their first Jackson Hole appearance in three years. They will be joined by multi-platinum recording artist, John Michael Montgomery, who is making his Jackson Hole debut. Opening the night is Tenille Townes, known for her country rock style.
The family friendly Million Dollar Music Fest is free to the public, although a limited number of VIP tickets will be sold.
Opening of the National Parks - Early May
Springtime is the perfect time to visit the National parks, with the landscape in full bloom and wildlife emerging from hibernation. Both Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park reopen in early May, offering endless opportunities for adventure just a short drive from Jackson. Whether you're hitting the trails, spotting bears and bison, or simply enjoying the breathtaking views, it’s a gorgeous time to visit.
Jackson Hole Rodeo - Kicks Off Memorial Day Weekend

Running from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day, the Jackson Hole Rodeo brings the spirit of the wild West to life every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 8pm.
