Jackson Hole Travel Tips

Right between an amazing ski season and summer hiking and camping, is a special time called springtime in Wyoming. There’s still plenty to do while you wait for the summer mountain flowers to bloom and rivers to run high for rafting.

Snowshoeing

Experience the silence of the backcountry with just the sound of the soft crunch of your snowshoes beneath you. The only other tracks you may see are from the wildlife inhabiting the area. Wyoming is a state known for its amazing wilderness and is popular with outdoor enthusiasts. Check out the list of Best Snowshoeing in Wyoming to plan your next outing.

Cross Country Skiing

This year has seen a continuous wave of snowfall so there are still great groomed trails around the state for cross country skiing. If you’re unfamiliar with where to find trails, contact local cities such as Visit Laramie or guided tour companies such as Yellowstone Vacations.

Fishing

The warmer spring days beckon you to grab your waders and fishing pole and find a favorite fishing spot. Wyoming is home to 22 species of fish and you can find lake and reservoir fishing throughout the state. There are also plenty of rivers to cast a line; Green River, Bighorn River, Wind River and North Platte, just to name a few.

Golfing

It’s time to grab those clubs and get swinging. The great thing about golfing in Wyoming is the view from the course. Whether it’s at Shooting Star in Jackson, with the Tetons for a backdrop, or at Rochelle Ranch outside of Rawlins, with its open views of the Red Desert steppe, you have over 100 golf courses to choose from.

So come to Wyoming in the springtime and enjoy sun-filled days with plenty to do.
