Happy 100th Birthday to the National Parks! In celebration of National Park Week, every park is free of admission April 16-24. We are fortunate to live near two of the greatest National Parks: Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park. One of the most favorite Jackson Hole activities this time of year is riding bikes in Grand Teton National Park. The main park road has been plowed and is open to non-motorized traffic from Taggart Lake to Signal Mountain Lodge until May 1st. This is a special way to experience our National Park. Remember though, it’s always good to use caution this time of year, as wet roads and bear activity is quite common.
If you are coming to Jackson Hole in the spring, don’t forget to book your float trip on the Snake River. All the area raft companies are open and are ready to get people on the water. The spring melts off makes for an exciting trip and don’t worry, people wear wet suits all year long here.

With spring in the air, we are also gearing up for some fun events known as Elkfest and Old West Days. Elkfest is held in conjunction with the 48th annual Jackson Hole Boy Scout Elk and Antler Auction held on the town square. The weekend of May 21 and 22 is based on nature, hunting skills, and ecological education and awareness. Many family events are planned.

The 35th annual Old West Days held over Memorial Day weekend (May 27-30) celebrates Jackson Hole’s rich western history. This family event is packed with something for everyone; a parade, brew fest, street dance, rodeo, stagecoach rides and an old fashioned Western Shoot.
